Week 8

Yo this week been alright so I'll add some cool stuff

But I may have forgot to talk about some other stuff from last week that I'll put in rq

My companion had surgery because he got an infection on his neck. He ain't get no anesthesia so he was in total pain the whole time.

Next day we were driving home from another village and almost hit a taxi.
The taxis here are not like normal taxis.
They are regular people who put stickers on their car that say how many seats they have. They drive around and just pick up people on the road. They drive pretty crazy and pull over randomly to drop people off.
We were driving and had to change lanes. That's when we almost hit Quincy Austin.
He is a crazy guy holy. He was yelling at us and following bumper to bumper and honking for like 3 miles straight. We didn't even hit the guy. Like go away.
Anyways he started to get even crazier and went in the other lane into oncoming traffic to yell at us. And i tell you what if I was driving this wouldn't have happened.

He pulled in front of us and stopped mid traffic and got out to yell at the elder driving saying a bunch of nonsense

He waved down a cop and we went to the police outpost. Eventually the cop started yelling at Quincy Austin because of how narrow his thinking was. Cool experience though since I couldn't even understand what he was saying the whole time. Heavy creolese

Thing is though that me and my companion needed to go to the hospital for his appointment. We had to take the buses which are literally just vans that people wrap in the ugliest colors and whatnot. We just walked down the road til one stopped and let us in.

Pretty much the only cool thing that happened that week but this week had some cool stuff too.

I went on an exchange with one of the zone leaders. His name is Elder Lopez and he came to my area so I had to lead. He is a really good example and he is serious about working. We had a lot of really good conversations and had a good time.

Had good progress with one of our friends named Romaine and Alisha  this Friday. We went there a little later then we would usually go but they have a busy schedule. We got there and he was telling us that he was reading the testimonies of the witnesses and the introduction. That was so awesome. Made me happy and made me smile. We had a good lesson with romaine and his family. They had questions and we answered all of them. Afterwards, his girlfriend/wife asked if we were able to marry them. Something to know here is that if you live with someone for a year you are considered married by Guyana. Thing is, you need to be actually married to be baptized. We told Romaine and Alisha that we couldn't but we might know people that van help them. They were so excited and offered us some pop chuoy or however it's spelled. Good stuff. We didn't want to take all their food but they insisted. They also had one of their little ones to run and get us drinks too. We had a baptism the next day and we invited them to come. They Said they would try. That was awesome too.
Spoiler alert- they didn't come.

Next day, Saturday, there was a baptism for a young man named Anthony. He is a friend of the other elders in our district. That was so cool to see him take this step forward. He seemed really happy and his testimony is really strong. One of our friends is going to get baptized on the 16th which I guess I can talk about when the time comes.
Aight I'm done.
